Nisa-Today's has appointed Chris Gilman to the newly-created post of store merchandiser to help Nisa fascia members through its store reformatting programme.
Nisa Innovation, the model for all new look Nisa fascia stores, was launched at the start of August (The Grocer, August 3, p4).
Gilman joins the buying group's sales development team and will work closely with retailers to implement category management and instore layout changes.
He managed a family-run supermarket for 16 years before becoming store merchandiser for Londis.
He said: "I am looking forward to working with the sales development team to further enhance the service we provide to members.
"My hands-on role will mean that I can work closely with experienced retailers to achieve the best possible results for their stores."
The Nisa fascia was launched in 1998 and comprises more than 150 stores.
