Ex Allders chief, Terry Green, could join Tesco in a senior role.

Reports suggest that Green has been in talks with Tesco for several weeks and could take up a job within the retail giant’s clothing business.

He could replace John Hoerner, who joined Tesco in July 2001 and recently stepped back from the day-to-day running of the division.

Hoerner also launched Tesco's clothing brand Cherokee and introduced jeans for £4 in store.

Green has also headed department stores Debenhams and BHS and has worked with Hoerner at Burton Group.
