Ronnie Bell, the former president of Kraft Foods Europe, has been appointed non-executive chairman at Premier Foods.
He takes up the role on 1 October, replacing David Kappler. The appointment comes after Kappler announced in February that he would step down this year.
Bell spent 30 years at Kraft, including five as European president, taking responsibility for the group’s coffee, chocolate and grocery brands in the region. He is currently non-executive chairman at dairy group Milk Link.
“Ronnie has had a long and successful career in the food industry and brings with him a wealth of experience,” said Premier chief executive Robert Schofield.
“I look forward to working with him as we focus on delivering organic growth and reducing debt."
Bell has stood down as a non-executive director at Northern Foods with immediate effect but is set to continue in his role with Milk Link.
