Why is Baugur so interested in the UK retail scene? What is the secret of Waitrose’s success? How are consumers responding to the changing grocery retail scene? These are just some of the issues that will be tackled at a new seminar organised by The Grocer and taking place in London on July 5.
Dubbed Going for Growth, the seminar will explore the opportunities for grocery companies. Speakers from Waitrose, Booths and Cook will explain how they are growing upmarket, while BP and Somerfield will talk about the opportunities in convenience. The discounting boom will be explored by Poundland and 99p Stores, while Baugur will explain its views about the UK.
The seminar will also spotlight businesses that have developed new models, with speakers from Asda’s non-food division, Blueheath and Fishworks.
Experts from HI Europe and Dunnhumby will give the consumer view, while Commerzbank will explore the lessons from overseas markets.
