Supermarket giants have been quick to implement the Office of Fair Trading's recommendations on greater clarity of pricing through their online services.
Last week the OFT rapped Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose and Asda, claiming that web sites did not make it clear enough that prices shown were guide prices and could change between order and delivery dates.
Tesco's web site now has a clear reference to guide pricing and issues relating to offers on-screen throughout. Waitrose has implemented a similar system, while Asda and Sainsbury have both included information, albeit less prominently, in their terms and conditions.
An Asda spokesman said that it had been compliant with the OFT's recommendations since last year, while Sainsbury said that it would be posting additional information regarding its terms and conditions by the end of this month.
