Voted Best Branded Supplier, Coca-Cola Enterprises is in fighting form, says Stefan Chomka

The past year has not been an easy one for soft drinks companies. The market has been hit by a slump in cola sales and there has been growing consumer concern over sweet fizzy drinks.
However, the judges felt Coca-Cola Enterprises - voted Best Branded Supplier in The Grocer Gold Awards - has shown strong resolve in meeting the challenges, introducing a raft of new products designed to reinvigorate the category. The launch of Coke with Lemon this month follows Diet Coke with Lime earlier in the year and a number of other successful
flavour variants.
The introduction of its zero added sugar Z range, across its Fanta, Sprite, Dr Pepper and Lilt brands in April, also demonstrates its willingness to react to consumer demand for healthier drinks.
The relaunch of Minute Maid in the UK with new packaging and flavours, clearly targeted at rival PepsiCo’s Tropicana, sets the scene for an interesting battle.
Martin Davies, general sales manager, London, CCE, says: "We're delighted with our performance in a period of crisis management. The award reflects our ongoing commitment to providing our customers with the best service at all times.”
