Tesco.com has broken the £500m milestone for annual online grocery sales.
The £500m figure excludes online sales of non-food, which includes items such as books, music and holidays.
The online grocer now covers 96% of the population and delivers more than 110,000 orders a week through its fleet of 1,000 vans. It has launched a new phone ordering service for its flower and wine delivery.
Tesco.com chief executive Laura Wade-Gery said Tesco.com would continue to grow at a phenomenal rate and she promised more innovations would arrive in 2004.
