Spar retailer Good 2 Go Scotland has outlined ambitious growth plans, aiming to open 20 stores within five years, after opening its ninth store in Culloden, Inverness.

John Murray, MD of the company, based in Golspie, in Sutherland, Scotland, said the latest 2,500 sq ft store had a full convenience offering, supported by Spar's Millennium retail package. He added: "We're working on a deal for a further five stores at the moment, all at various stages of completion."

Two other stores had been opened in Aviemore and Keith in the past year. This would boost the retail chain's annual sales from £4.5m to £6.5m by its year-end at the end of October, said Murray. That could take the company into the Bubbling Under section of The Grocer Top 50 independent retailer listings, he said.
