Philip Green is stepping up his war against Marks & Spencer this week as he reveals his expansion plans for Arcadia, as well as a new television campaign for BHS.

Green’s plans also follow the recent news that Asda’s George brand is gaining a stronger position in the UK clothing market.

He is expected to announce that he will open 58 Arcadia stores, the TopShop and Burton chain, while a further 60 potential locations for the TopShop chain have also been identified.

The moves are considered to be a direct attack against rival Marks & Spencer after his failed bid for the company this summer.
