Weight Watchers is making its debut in the pâté category, thanks to a partnership with Castle MacLellan.
Two new products, which are going into Sainsbury and Iceland now, target consumers who want to eat more healthily, as well as slimmers.
Farmhouse Style is a medium coarse recipe with fine herbs, while the Spicy Bean flavour is made from red and yellow peppers spiced with garlic, chilli and cumin. Each has an rsp of £1.29 and packaging carries details of calorific and Weight Watchers points values.
Lisa Deathe, product group manager for pâtés at Castle MacLellan’s parent company Kavli, said extensive research had gone into creating the two newcomers, which, she claimed, offered “the lowest fat content on the market”.
