Costcutter said it expected to report record sales of just over £500m for the year to 30 April 2007, up 10% on the previous 12 months. Its final sales figures will be calculated in the next few weeks.
Bags go from Booths
Booths has now removed plastic bags from its tills across its 26 outlets following trials in two stores. Bags are stored under the till, out of shoppers' sight, and if a customer wants bags, they must ask for them.
Ring MPs says MBL
Musgrave Budgens Londis is calling on retailers to get in touch with their local MP and newspaper to tell them how important their shops are to the community as part of National Independents' Week, which runs from 4 to 10 June.
