Somerfield has extended its in-store radio trials to all Somerfield stores in the run-up to Christmas.
The trial has been running for six weeks, initially in all Kwik Save stores and select Somerfield outlets. Nick Hall, Somerfield marketing controller, said: “The trial has been well received and we will be reviewing it in the new year.”
He said Somerfield was also considering introducing in-store TV in 2005: “We are aware of what Tesco has been doing in this area and we’re keeping an eye on that.
“In contrast to Tesco, a lot of our stores tend to be smaller, local shops, so we will need to look at this more closely.”
