Interbrew and Companhia de Bebidas das Americas (AmBev), have recently agreed a deal to combine the two companies to create InBev, the world’s biggest brewer by volume.

AmBev holds the title of the world’s fifth largest brewer, and it is the market leader across most of Latin America. Interbrew is the world’s third largest brewer with sales in over 140 countries.

The new company will focus its activities on three global flagship brands, Stella Artois, Becks and Brahma.

InBev achieved, on a 2003 consolidated pro forma basis, a net turnover of E9,287m.
