Budgens and Spar retailer James Graven & Sons has posted an increase in full-year sales and profits.

The Cambridgeshire-based retailer said sales rose 7.6% to £24.8m across its businesses in the year to 31 March, with pre-tax profits jumping from £190,583 to £573,932.

The company has five stores and is currently building a sixth in Littleport, investing £1.2m.

Although MD Jonathan James said the company had experienced an excellent year, he warned this year would be "a whole lot tougher for us and the industry".
