Sainsbury is planning to open the first supermarket GP centre at its store in Epsom, Surrey, The Grocer has learned.
Last month the government said that it was keen to open GP surgeries in supermarkets in a bid to make health services more accessible.
Sainsbury jumped at the chance to support the initiative. It met the Department of Health to discuss the introduction of at least one in-store surgery. Last month it reported that it was
searching for possible locations.
