Tesco has boosted its south Korean joint venture with Samsung through the acquisition of 12 stores from Aram Mart that will trade under its Homeplus banner. Samsung Tesco will acquire three compact hypermarkets and nine supermarkets. Samsung Tesco currently operates 31 Homeplus hypermarkets, and five super express Homestores. The JV aims for 73 stores by 2008.
