Tesco is giving out vouchers worth £140m to Clubcard holders, in what it says is the largest such offer in the supermarket’s history.

The promotion sees vouchers mailed to 16 million customers and runs for a five-week period until 5 September.

“This promotion is a real summer-saving bonanza for our Clubcard members and our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our loyal customers,” said UK marketing director Carolyn Bradley.

“Thanks to double points, customers are earning points twice as fast and getting more vouchers in their statements.

The Big Clubcard Voucher Exchange gives people a fun and exciting way to spend their vouchers and make great savings just by doing their normal shop.”

A similar promotion last year was worth £101m.
