Hundreds enrol for e-divi in first week Leeds Co-op has signed up 700 new members in the first week of trials of an electronic dividend scheme at its outlying Sherburn-in-Elmet c-store. Marketing director Alun Chisnall said: "We were a little surprised to sign up so many new members, bringing our total membership up to 900 in only the first week of a nine-month trial." The smart card loyalty scheme, with a £2 membership fee, is a move away from Leeds Co-op's stamp based system open to members and non-members. Members will get a profit related payback twice a year according to points registered when the card is swiped. Chisnall said: "The scheme is very similar to the one used by Lincoln Co-op and we worked together to develop it." It also plans to use the scheme to make donations to a charity nominated by members. {{NEWS }}
