Londis has started a nationwide roll-out of its new Genesis format, launched at the end of last year. Londis sales director Terry Bedford said: "We are actively developing sites in all of our 26 territories around the country, whether they be a forecourt, CTN, c-store, neighbourhood store or supermarket solution." Bedford reported sales are up at the seven stores nationwide which have already been refitted. The latest, a neighbourhood store in Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, is the first Londis to feature an open plan post office in the mix. The Genesis design highlights Londis' new fresh food emphasis with pastel shades and a new look fascia, and can be translated across store formats from c-store to supermarket. Raj Chandegra, who owns the Genesis pilot store in Barnes, London, said: "When Genesis was introduced in December I lost some 40 linear metres of shelf space to create an open plan effect in the store. "But sales went up immediately, and customer feedback has been excellent." {{NEWS }}
