Londis sales director Terry Bedford said that off-licences that converted to full convenience in the past year had shown an average sales growth of 26%.
Bedford explained that Londis were looking to convert a further 30 off-licences this year. He added that 73% of stores in the Londis estate were currently licensed, with some evolving into local wine specialists and cashing in on the decline of traditional off-licences.
Meanwhile, Londis retail director Tony Riddy said that the average investment by its retailers in the 15 refits booked for February and March has increased to £49,000 compared to £22,700 last year.
