Makro Cash & Carry has appointed its 100th customer consultant. The wholesaler introduced the position in 2005 to give a dedicated point of contact for help and advice.

It upped the recruitment programme in April this year following the launch of its Makro Foodservice delivery business.

A spokeswoman said: "With the successful launch of Foodservice, which is expanding into even more stores later this year, and with exciting plans to get even closer to our professional customers over the next few months, this number is set to more than double."
