Larry Hands, a senior buyer for Bestway, has retired after 35 years in the industry.
Hands’ first job in the industry was with Nurdin and Peacock as a shelf filler.
In 1991 he joined Bestway to develop the provision and frozen foods business.
Bestway said that during his time at the company Hands had worked on many projects including the launch of own label brand Best-in.
Younus Sheikh, MD of Bestway, added: “Larry is a very special person. I personally will always value his many talents and the contribution he made to help make Bestway the success it is today, especially the great work on our own label brand, Best-in. We wish him a very peaceful retirement.”
This week The Grocer revealed that Bestway Cash & Carry had jumped from sixth to fourth in its The Big 30 ranking of wholesalers.
