Marks and Spencer has run full-page adverts in national newspapers to highlight the fact that its ready meals do not contain hydrogenated fats.

Last week Sainsbury's, Tesco and Asda said that they would all be removing hydrogenated fats from their own-label products.

However, M&S has already achieved this. “Our ready meals lack a certain something. Hydrogenated fats. We've already removed all the hydrogenated fats from our ready meals and by the end of the year none of the food we sell will contain hydrogenated fats,” the advert says.
