Marks and Spencer has signed an agreement with property group Chelsfield for a 152,000 sq ft flagship store at Chelsfield’s £1.5bn shopping centre development in west London.

The proposed shopping centre in White City is due to open in late 2006 and is expected to become the most expensive shopping development in the UK.

Property director at M&S, Chris Williams, said: “We are constantly striving to shape our store locations to meet the changing needs of our customers.

“The store would provide our customers with an inspirational shopping experience and a great alternative to our surrounding offer in the West End and the outer M25.”
