Marks and Spencer has been named as the best supermarket for sustainable seafood by environmental campaign group Greenpeace.

Waitrose came second in the table, followed by Sainsbury's in third. Asda, Morrisons and Tesco all tied in fifth place, while Iceland was bottom of the pile.

Greenpeace said that there had been “enormous” progress by the supermarkets in ensuring that seafood comes from sustainable sources.
