Nestlé has denounced newspaper reports it plans to close its factory at York, which employs 2,000 people, as "scaremongering". Press reports earlier stated that Nestlé was to transfer operations to Europe because the strong pound was damaging exports. In a statement Nestlé UK said: "If the strength of the pound is maintained then there would be a risk that our export business would suffer and that this would lead to job losses". But it added: "It's all a long way off, we are not considering it at the moment." - Today's, Landmark and Booker have confirmed that Nestlé is now meeting wholesaler demand for Kit Kat Chunky. {{NEWS }}
