Australian winemaker, McGuigan Wines has launched McGuigan City Vineyard at Dublin’s Meeting House Square.

The city centre space has been transformed once more into a slice of Australia’s Hunter Valley wine region, with over 100 living 70-year-old vines, a cellar door, wine barrels and a tractor.

The vineyard was officially opened this week by Australia’s Ambassador to Ireland Bruce Davis.

It is open until the 8 September and visitors can walk among the vines and taste McGuigan’s new release ‘S’ Semillon Blanc and Black Label Rosé wines.

Off trade sales of McGuigan have performed strongly over the past year up 31% to £82m with volumes up 24% over the period [Nielsen; 52 w/e 28 April 2012].
