Frozen warehouse specialist Cold Move has installed 600 solar roof panels at its Oswestry HQ as it steps up efforts to slash its carbon footprint 25% by 2020.

The company installed 1,077 panels at its Warrington depot earlier this year - the biggest ever roof-based solar PV installation in the North of England.

The two installations would play a key role in cutting its carbon footprint 25% by 2020 and would generate 324,240 kWh of electricity a year, said the company.

Meanwhile Wiltshire Farm Foods, which distributes frozen meals to elderly customers, has had 40 solar PV panels fitted, which it estimated would save it £84,000 over the next 25 years.
