The appointment completes chairman Sir Ken Morrisons’ promise at the supermarket group’s annual general meeting in May this year that he would appoint four non-executive directors.
Manduca was most recently Deutsche Asset Management's European chief executive. He was previously chief executive of Rothschild Asset Management and the founding chief executive of Threadneedle Asset Management.
Sir Ken said: “We are delighted that Paul Manduca has agreed to join the Morrisons board. His knowledge and understanding of the City and the needs of institutional shareholders will be of immense benefit to the company.”
