Troubled supermarket group Morrisons may soon be able to announce the appointment of two new non-executive directors.

Reports in the national media suggest that Morrisons’ chairman, Sir Ken Morrison, has two possible names in the frame.

The individuals concerned have experience in the consumer industries sector, the reports said.

Sir Ken promised shareholders at the retailer’s annual general meeting last month that he would appoint four non-executive directors within four to six weeks.
