According to adverts placed for the posts, the successful senior business analyst candidate will be responsible for recruiting, coaching, motivating and developing a team of analysts, who will work with Morrisons' trading team but report to finance director Richard Pennycook.
The recruits should have significant experience in financial analysis within retail or fmcg and be capable of "operating against a complex backdrop of significant change", Morrisons said. The roles were "an outstanding opportunity to add value to a high profile business at an exciting time in a company with a long and impressive history", the retailer added.
The recruitment drive is the latest move by the resurgent supermarket chain to boost its senior management team. Last month, Morrisons appointed Philip Cox, CEO of International Power, as a non-executive director. In January, it also pledged to recruit 5,000 new staff this year across its fresh meat, fish and bakery counters to develop its 'fresh for you everyday' proposition.
