Morrisons is the latest major retailer running the rule over Iceland’s estate, according to press reports.
The Bradford-based supermarket is thought to be considering a move for some or all of the frozen specialist’s network of stores, in a bid to develop its convenience offering.
The news puts Morrisons potentially on a collision course with Sainsbury’s, which emerged as an early front-runner in the Iceland sale process.
Property director Neil Sachdev confirmed Sainsbury’s was interested in acquiring some of the stores.
