Poultry giant Moy Park is to take over responsibility for parent Marfrig’s entire £1.5bn European operations.

From today, the reorganisation of the Brazilian food giant’s European operations will see its Keystone Europe, Seara and Marfrig operations come under the direction of Moy Park.

The integration of Marfrig’s European business units would allow it to better meet its customers’ expectation for innovative, high-quality and affordable consumer products, said Nigel Dunlop (pictured), whose title has become Moy Park Europe CEO to reflect the change.

“These changes will enable us to develop and grow as a strong and profitable business across Marfrig’s entire European operations and ensure we can compete effectively for the benefit of the business and its people.”

One significant consequence of the change is that it will give Moy Park operational capabilities in products such as beef, which to date have been outside its poultry heartland. Moy Park customers will now have access to a wide range of Marfrig products currently sold in other international markets. 

Part of the change will see Ursula Lavery, Moy Park’s current director of technical and food safety, join the Moy Park executive board as technical director Europe, with responsibility across the new enlarged business.

Moy Park’s current headquarters in Craigavon, Northern Ireland will become responsible for the newly combined business.
