Asda has unveiled a £70m investment package to improve and expand its operations in Scotland. The cash will be spent on a new 35,000 sq ft store in Dumbarton, a rebuild at Livingston and the expansion of the Milton store in Dundee. A further 19 stores across Scotland are also being modernised. The package will create 550 new jobs. The improvements will take place during 2001, said a spokeswoman. "This is about giving our Scottish stores a facelift to complement our new focus on fresh foods and home and leisure." Interior and exterior work ranges from new counters and designs to new fascias, car parks and brickwork. {{NEWS }}
