Two of the 16 superstores put up for sale by CWS have been snapped up by Tesco. The two stores are in Scotland  Westwood and Maryhill  and have been acquired for an undisclosed sum. A date for the transfer of the two stores has still to be confirmed but will not take place before August 2. CWS put 16 of its larger stores up for sale two weeks ago. The Co-op is selling the stores because they have no place in its portfolio either because of poor trading or lack of potential. The society wants to reinvest the money raised from the sales in its convenenice store and market town supermarkets businesses. {{NEWS }}
