Sainsbury has created three positions in its convenience store trading division, appointing Keith Webb and Ian McConville as business unit directors for trading.
Webb was previously trading director for Spar and director of buying for T&S. He joins Sainsbury from Costcutter where he was a consultant. McConville joins Sainsbury from Netto where he was a buyer.
Sainsbury said Webb and McConville would lead the category management function of the division.
Ged Carter also joins the c-store division as business unit director for store formats and marketing. He was earlier general manager for retail marketing and head of c-store brand management at The Co-operative Group.
Richard Lancaster, trading and marketing director for Sainsbury’s Convenience, said: “These appointments represent a significant step on our way to building a powerful, integrated convenience division.”
