Former Safeway stores director John Douglass has been appointed as operations director for NAAFI.
He worked with Safeway for 34 years and as stores director was responsible for 450 stores across the UK.
Douglass has also been Safeway regional director with responsibility for international retail management for the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar. In his new role, Douglass will be reporting to chief executive Chris Reilly and will be responsible for all NAAFI operations across the world including the UK, Northern Ireland, Germany and Iraq.
NAAFI operates more than 500 convenience stores, as well as 500 pubs and clubs for the British Armed Forces and their families stationed in 17 countries.
