New contracts with Marks & Spencer and The Co-operative Group, plus the disposal of its loss-making European businesses, helped Uniq return to sales growth in the last three months.
Overall sales in the 13 weeks to 26 December were up 4%, according to the convenience foods group’s latest trading update.
It was buoyed by a strong performance for its food-to-go business, which increased sales of 11.5% for the period. Desserts posted marginal growth of 0.4%.
Uniq, which had reported declines in total sales for the previous two quarters, last November tightened its focus on the UK convenience market by agreeing the sales of its German, Dutch and Polish businesses.
