P&H McLane has launched a rival to the Londis Genesis and Spar Millennium store formats. The company fielded more than 100 inquiries when it launched the format at the Pro-Retail trade show in Telford where five independents signed up for the silver and blue Mace turn-key package. P&H general manager, symbols, Derek Boocock said: "We have had a tremendous response from retailers looking to upgrade as well as those currently with our competitors. "This is a 21st century Mace, a completely new package drawing on the Mace pedigree." And national symbols sales manager, David Ellis added: "The stores' fascias will carry the strapline Mace retail solutions for the 21st century' to bring the Mace brand up to date. "We have recognised that retailers are looking for more instore theatre and that is what this package is about." But the new Mace format will not affect development of the groups' other fascias ­ Supershop, Your Store, and Mace Express. {{NEWS }}
