Kwik Save has appointed Jan Frith retail director to help drive its store recovery programme. Frith began her career as a graduate trainee for Marks and Spencer before becoming field manager for Next in 1983, rising to become stores operations controller. After taking a break to have children, she worked as a freelance consultant and then joined KPMG to work for retailers that included Marks and Spencer, Thorntons and T&S Stores. Frith said: "I learned a lot from consultancy but I am a people person and wanted to return to industry, and particularly to retail. "The grocery sector represents a challenge. It is more dynamic than the fashion market with greater competition, and standards are critical. "In food retail you can't afford to stand still." Frith cited team building and customer service as two of her key strengths. {{PEOPLE MOVES }}
