Symbol group Costcutter has begun the roll-out of C-PoS, its integrated EPoS system, to 20 retailers following a trial.

Results at test sites have been positive and the company said it had received wide interest from retailers.

The system links tills with back office systems. Costcutter said processing transactions and till functions, such as cashing-up, took longer under its previous system, which had no such link.

Kevin Widdrington, IT director, said: "We are delighted with the results. It is a system proving to be very successful as it makes life easier for the retailers."

In addition, Costcutter has launched another round of national TV adverts in commercial breaks on GMTV.

The latest ads will run for the next two weeks and follow two previous national TV campaigns.
