Tesco is setting up a new team tasked with improving stock replenishment through innovation.

It is currently recruiting for programme managers, project managers and analysts to develop and lead the four-year programme.

Tesco said it would focus on internal productivity, as well as engaging suppliers. The initiative would be high profile within Tesco, led by someone with experience of a change management programme in excess of £10m, it added.

Last July Tesco began trialling an empty warehouse initiative, which freed up space by moving stock to top shelves on shop floors.
