Joanna Jeffrey, production standards advisor for the National Farmers' Union, will join Tesco as an agriculture manager next month.
Jeffrey will be working on farmer communications, animal welfare and supply chain standards.
She worked for the NFU for two years and was responsible for advising producers on subjects that included production standards for organic food and farm assurance schemes. Before that she worked in a similar area for poultry processor 2 Sisters Food Group. owner of brands such as Buxton and Premier.
, with particular focus on its business with Tesco.
