Asda has teamed up with health bosses to help boost the profile of the NHS and get people eating more healthily.
The retailer and the health service are trialling the use of NHS branded information barkers on fresh produce.
Ten products, including fresh peppers and bananas, are being labelled with health information and the tagline Helping you to enjoy a healthier life'.
Alison Dakin, Asda's nutritionist, said the month-long trial was running in 10 stores. A later link with 5-a-day initiatives was possible, she added.
