Following a 20% cut in food prices in German Wal-Mart stores, Asda has announced price cuts of up to a third on 200 of its products. The £30m giveaway comes on the back of pre-Christmas figures from Taylor Nelson Sofres giving Asda a 14% market share in the 12 weeks to December 14  a record high for the company. The new price offensive will cover food items across the store from pizzas to pot noodles, tarts to tea bags. Asda said there would be no let up in the price offensive, with 10,000 prices at US levels and 10,000 Rollbacks promised by the end of the year. The latest cuts come in addition to the £45m cut from 2,000 lines on non food items. {{NEWS }}
