Ocado, the Waitrose branded internet service, is now available to 320,000 households in the Hemel Hempstead region as a staggered roll out continues. Roger Whiteside, joint md of Ocado, said: "We are now live in Luton, Watford and Hatfield. We are seeing baskets sizes of around £90, covering all Waitrose and branded categories from fresh to long life. Repeat custom is stronger than we expected." Shoppers are being offered £10 off each of their first five orders of £75 or more in their first eight weeks as customers. Delivery is free over £75. Ocado is due to be introduced in the M25 area from the current warehouse in Hemel Hempstead before transferring to a semi automated, purpose-built 1.2m sq ft distribution depot in Hatfield in mid-summer. Further distribution centres will then open in major conurbations nationwide. {{NEWS }}
