The Office of Fair Trading will not refer Premier Foods' £1.2bn acquisition of RHM to the Competition Commission.
“The OFT has decided, on the information currently available to it, not to refer the anticipated acquisition by Premier Foods of RHM to the Competition Commission,” the OFT said in a statement.
Shareholders of both companies will now vote on the merger at extraordinary general meetings due next week, while a decision by the Irish Competition Authority is expected on Friday (9 February).
