Higher oil and utility prices have “adversely impacted” margins at Arla Foods.

In a trading update to the City the group said that it has put measures in place to reduce the impact of cost pressures and expected profits to remain in line with expectations.

Arla added that its brands continue to perform well, with Lurpak and Anchor Light Spreadable gaining market share. It has also increased volumes in the supermarket milk and cream business.
