The company, which tracks OTC health product sales through the top four multiples as well as the pharmacy sector, showed that Tesco rates as first choice for shoppers in 13 of the 15 OTC health categories tracked by its Consumer Shoppers Panel for the poll.
Tesco was particularly strong in key OTC health categories such as pain relief, coughs, colds and ‘flu, mouth treatments and skincare. Asda was the shoppers’ favourite destination for stimulant and laxative products, IMS Health reported. Sainsbury took third position and Safeway fourth as a health product destination.
Tesco and Asda offered price advantage, respondents said.
