Procter & Gamble has notched up a 7% increase in first-quarter sales to $19.2bn.
The fmcg giant – whose products range from Pampers nappies to Oral B toothpaste – said sales for the past three months were boosted by a strong innovation programme, increased marketing and merchandising support.
Volumes grew in all regions and by double-digits in developing regions, the company added.
Chairman and chief executive Bob McDonald declared himself “very pleased” with the quarterly performance.
“We are operating more effectively as one company, coordinating and scaling our activities,” he said. “Our over-arching growth strategy – to touch and improve more consumers' lives, in more parts of the world, more completely – is working."
